He is a member of the UWW Refereeing Commission as well as an instructor and educator, positions he has been holding since 2013. He is also the chair of the Refereeing Commission of the Turkish Wrestling Federation. He started his refereeing career in 1989 and became an international referee in 1996. He is now a top category referee (Olympic level). In addition, he is the technical chair for wrestling at the International University Sport Federation (FISU).
He has refereed more than 25 Continental and World Championships. As an educator and an instructor, he has taught several referee and coach seminars and courses.
He obtained his Doctorate degree (PhD) in Exercise Sciences in 1998, became an Associate Professor in the same domain in 2012 and a Professor in 2018.
