Šernek is a member of the UWW Refereeing Commission, holds an educator position and is the current Secretary General of the Slovenian Wrestling Federation.
Besides his work, he is constantly working hard to develop himself as a wrestling referee and has been officiating as such at local and international levels for the last 25 years.
Mr. Šernek is very well known and respected among all the wrestling community of Slovenia and at UWW, especially by his colleagues.
Also, for the past couple of years, Mr. Šernek often worked as a neutral referee and assistant educator at referee clinics and seminars, where he helped educate new generations of referees. In 2018, he acquired the level 1 certificate for referees in Tbilisi.
