Alexey has completed the Master of Sports of Russia in freestyle wrestling. He has been an active coach for over 25 years. His wrestlers have gone on to win medals at the European and World Championships.

He began his international referee career in 2009. In 2016, he was promoted to the highest category(IS). He has worked the Senior World Championships and European Senior Championships since 2016. Alexey has also refereed at two Olympic Games (Tokyo and Paris). During his time, he has refereed at over 80 international tournament and conducted over 40 referee seminars in Russia.
